Specifications and Functions
(2) Example of Use of the SVR
The SVR is usually used for the following two applications.
•
Program testing
:
Results can be obtained simply, without having to install motors.
•
Generating commands
: When the SVR is used in situations where a Motion Module just for gener-
ating commands is required, such as where the master axis is in phase con-
trol or synchronized control of multiple axes, Motion Modules associated
with actual axes are not needed.
The following table lists example applications of the SVR.
Note: The software limit function and machine lock function cannot be used with the SVR. The position error will
be always be 0.
(3) Example of System Configuration
The following diagram shows an example of system configuration in which SVR is used.
No.
Application Example
Application Method
1
Master axis for phase
control
Electronic cam or shaft operation can be achieved by using the SVR for the
virtual master axis.
2
Multi-axis synchronous
control
Multi-axis synchronous control can be achieved by controlling the SVR
from a motion program and then using the ladder program to copy position
commands of the SVR to other axes.
3
Sine curve commands
If the motion program is used to perform circular interpolation with the
SVR, the axis operates with a sine curve command.
