Maintenance
1. REPLACING THE CHAIN AND GUIDE BAR
a. Place the tool on a solid, level surface.
b. Loosen the chain cover lock nut by turning it counter-clockwise with the wrench
provided and take off the chain cover (see Fig. L1, L2).
c. Remove the old bar and chain to expose the bar pad (see Fig. L3, L4).
c. Assemble the new bar and chain. Slide the chain in the slot around the guide bar.
Ensure the chain is in correct running direction by comparing it to the chain icon on the
bar pad
(see Fig. L5).
d. Fit the chain onto the drive sprocket. Ensure the bar tensioning bolt is correctly located
into the bottom bar hole (see Fig. L6).

e. Ensure all parts are seated properly. Make sure the drive links are fully seated in the
drive sprocket (see Fig. L7), avoid placing the chain in the inverse direction. If kink
occurs, pick up the chain at the guide bar just ahead of the kink and then pull the kink
out (see Fig. L8).
NOTE:
Chain should rotate freely and be free of kinks.
