SAFETY SYMBOLS

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

DOUBLE-INSULATED APPLIANCES

In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation are provided instead of
grounding. No grounding means is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should
a means for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance
requires extreme care and knowledge of the system, and should be performed only by
qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance must be
identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words
“Double Insulation” or “Double Insulated.” The symbol (square within a square) may also
be marked on the appliance.

DOUBLE-INSULATED: GROUNDING NOT REQUIRED. WHEN SERVICING, USE ONLY
IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT PARTS.

This leaf shredder is double-insulated, eliminating the need for a separate grounding
system. Use only identical replacements parts. Read the instructions for servicing double-
insulated leaf shredders before servicing. Use this leaf shredder only as described in this
manual.

Warning

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose to rain. Store
indoors.

Warning

For your own safety, read and understand the operator’s manual. Do
not run the unit unattended.

CaUTiOn

To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, unplug the unit before
cleaning or servicing.

UNPACKING

Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely that your leaf shredder is faulty
or that a part is missing. If you find anything wrong, do not operate the tool until the parts
have been replaced or the fault has been rectified. Failure to do so could result in serious
personal injury.

The following table depicts and describes safety symbols that may appear on this product.
