(A) Correct: 75% full: The remaining air can be
compressed like a cushion.
(B) Incorrect: 100% full: Water cannot be
compressed.

NOTE

Avoid using alcohol as weight.
●
Calcium chloride solution is heavier.
●
A water solution of calcium chloride is a safe
weight.
●
The preceding solution prevents freezing and
does not damage the tires, tubes or rims.
●
Mix a solution of 3.5 lb. (1.6 kg) of calcium
chloride and approximately 4 qt. (3.8L) of water.
●
The solution mentioned in the preceding does
not freeze at a temperature of above -50 °F (-45
°C).
●
Fill the tubeless tires at least up to the valve stem
height (at least 75% filled) (A).
●
A smaller amount of the solution results in partly
exposed rims:
• can lead to corrosion of the rim
