Fuel filter

1. Close the fuel tank cock.
2. Remove the fuel filter with a filter
wrench.
Note: When removing the fuel filter, hold
the bottom of the fuel filter with a
cloth to prevent the fuel from spilling.
Wipe up any spilled fuel
immediately.
3. Apply a thin film of clean diesel fuel to
the sealing surface of the new filter
gasket.
4. Install a new filter and hand-tighten.
Use a filter wrench and tighten to 20 to
24 N
·
m (14.75 to 17.7 ft-lb).
5. Bleed the fuel system.

Dispose of waste properly.
6. Check for fuel leaks.

Checking or Replacing Seawater
Pump Impeller
1. Loosen side cover bolts and remove
the side cover.
2. Inspect the inside of the seawater
pump with a flashlight. If any of the
following are found, disassembly and
maintenance are required:
• Impeller blades are cracked or nicked.
Edges or surfaces of the blades are
marred or scratched.
• Wear plate is damaged.
3. If no damage is found when inspecting
the inside of the pump, install the O-ring
and side cover.
4. If a large amount of water leaks
continuously from the water drain line
below the seawater pump during
operation, replace the mechanical seal.
Consult authorized YANMAR Marine
dealer or distributor.
Replacing the Seawater Pump Impeller
Note: The impeller must be replaced
periodically (every 1000 hours) even
if there is no damage.
