STARTER CLUTCH AND GEARS INSPECTION
1. Inspect:

Starter clutch
Push the dowel pin to arrow direction.
Unsmooth operation
→
Replace starter
clutch assembly.
2. Inspect:

Starter wheel gear teeth

Idle gear teeth
2
Burrs/Chips/Roughness/Wear
→
Replace.
3. Inspect:

Starter clutch operation

Clutch operation checking steps:

Install the starter wheel gear to the starter
clutch, and hold the starter clutch.

When turning the wheel gear clockwise

the starter clutch and the wheel gear should
be engaged.
If not the starter clutch is faulty. Replace it.

When turning the wheel gear counter clock-
wise
B
, the wheel gear should turn freely. If
not, the starter clutch is faulty. Replace it.
