Screw the four attached metal distant spacers with the four attached  nuts on the other holes of the 
Style-EX Board. 
Connect the HD-Cable from the PSR-8000 to the free 44Pin connector on the STYLE-EX board. The 
red pin (number 1) should be placed in the near of the capacitor.  (see picture) 
Screw all on the metal cover and then all to the PSR-8000.  
 
 

3.  Initialising and test 
 

3.1 Initialising 

 
After the installation a Initialisation is necessary. 
Make the following steps: 
 
1.  Press the Cis 2, F 2 und Gis 2 on the Keyboard and while pressing this keys switch the PSR-8000 

on. The test menu appears. 

 
2.  Press the right Tempo switch again and again until 

047: Factory Set 

is displayed. 

 
3. Press 

START/STOP 

switch. 

 
4.  Afterwards switch the PSR-8000 off and on – the keyboard is initialised now.  
 

3.2 Test 
 

If you switch the keyboard on and the message 

 

 

   Replace style-expansion battery! 

   Save all data on disk before      

   replacing battery 

        
        

 

 

appears, so you should exchange in the next 2-3 weeks the backup battery of the Style expansion. 
The battery is soldered directly on the board of the Style Expansion that is mounted in the hard disk 
recess.  
We strongly recommend to make a complete data backup on floppy disk or hard disk before you 
exchange the battery.

The is probably an error in the installation of the style expansion. Check the installation of the Style 
expansion (refer to the installation manual). For secure a switching of the style banks is impossible. 
 
It is not possible to change Style banks: 
 
First check if you are in the Groove Style or Custom Style Edit Menu. Press EXIT to leave these 
Menu..  
If you still have problems please check the installation (see installation manual). 
After changing the backup battery it could be necessary to make a complete initialisation of the  
PSR-8000 keyboard.
