Before you start to begin with the installation save all important Data on disk. Therefore use the SAVE
to Disk function described on site 141 of the PSR-8000 Operating manual.

1.  Exchange of the Operating System:

Turn your PSR-8000 Upside down. In the middle of the PSR-8000 you find the Simm Cover. Remove
that cover. Now you see a printed circuit board in the near of the two Simm connectors holding the two
Operating System Chips and the ROM Styles. Pull the board out.
On the board you see two IC’s on a socket labelled as IC1 on IC2. Put them off and install the
corresponding chip back. Pay special attention to the polarity of the chip (look at the “nose”)

Reinstall the board inside the PSR-8000 and screw the Simm-Cover.

2.  Installation of the Style Expansion

The Sytyle Expansion itself is installed in the HARD Disk Cover. First remove the Hard Disk Cover.

2.1 Installation if a Hard Disk Drive is installed

Unscrew the Hard Disk from the Hard Disk Cover and pull of the Hard Disk Cable. Now connect the
short 44pin flat cable that is on the style expansion with the Hard Disk in that way you can screw the
metal spacer screw inside the Hard Disk. Pay attention to the right position of the long and of the short
one (see picture below).
The longer spacers are on the side of the flat cable connectors.
Connect the HD-Cable from the PSR-8000 to the free 44Pin connector on the STYLE-EX board. The
red pin (number 1) should be placed in the near of the capacitor.  (see picture)

Screw all on the metall cover and then all to the PSR-8000.
