Flushing Cooling System and Fogging
Engine
Cooling system flushing is essential to
prevent the cooling system from clogging
up with salt, sand, or dirt. In addition, fog-
ging of the engine is mandatory to pre-
vent expensive engine damage due to
rust. Perform the flushing and fogging at
the same time.

Do not touch or remove electrical parts
when starting or during operation.

Keep hands, hair and clothes away
from flywheel and other rotating parts
while engine is running.

Keep yourself and others away from the
propeller while engine is running.

Avoid running the outboard at high
speed while flushing, or overheating
could occur.

Remove the top cowling and silencer
cover.
2)
Unscrew the garden-hose connector
2
from the bottom cowling fitting
1
.
3)
Screw the garden-hose connector
2
onto a garden-hose
3
which is con-
nected to a fresh-water supply.
4)
Open the water tap and let the water
flush through the cooling passages.
5)
Run the engine at an idle speed in
neutral for about 15 minutes.
