CPU Reset
As a last resort, if you are unable to gain control of
the transceiver, the FT-SlR can be reset from the
keypad to clear all settings, memories, channel
step and repeater shifts to their factory defaults.

To do this, hold

while turning on the transceiver. If CPU problems
remain after performing the soft reset, a hard CPU
reset may be performed as follows.

Turn the transceiver off and disconnect all ca
bles.

Separate the front and rear transceiver body
halves (as shown in
Transceiver Disassembly
on
page 2-1).

Remove the solder from jumper
JP1008
on the
CNTL Unit near the lithium battery(as shown
in the drawing).

After waiting several minutes, resolder the
jumper and reassemble the transceiver.
