8.3 Clean Out Filament Feeding Gear
8.4 Guide Tube Installation and Cleaning
Always keep the feeding gear free of clogging. Clogs can impact filament feeding and directly affect your 3D printed process.
Users should regularly clean the feeding gear once finished printing. They can use the following tools for feeding gear clean-
ing.
Refer 3.2 Print Nozzle and Filament Installation ③ for guide tube installation.
The white filament tube is expected to wear more than other printer components. Filament always encounters friction when
moving through the white filament tube. However, a damaged tube can increase this friction, and cause errors on the printer.
Also, debris can be carried to the print head, where it will burn. To avoid this, clear out debris from the filament guide tube by
removing both ends from the printer, putting a small piece of paper towel in the tube, and pushing the paper towel through, by
hand, with a piece of filament. Alternatively, the filament guide tube can be replaced.

①
For PP300, the filament feeding gear is in inside the filament storage box. Before cleaning, user should use the unload
filament function to loosen and remove the filament.
②
Remove the both sides the filament storage box cover.
③
Use the cleaning brush to scrub the gear. After removing the filament residues on the gear, you can insert the filament
back and enjoy printing.
Note:
Before inserting the guide tube, user should visually check the tube condition. Common issues are
peel off, blocking, and deformation, pictured below. If any abnormal status is found, (Not exactly sure what
this is trying to say)
