2.2 XCC-010 with Capillaries
For the given pipe lengths and number of capillary pipes use hole sizes as defined in Table 2-3 or Table 2-4.
All capillaries are to be the same length and evenly spaced along the pipe (+/- 20%).
The internal diameter of the capillary tube must be 8mm.
Each capillary must be capped and drilled to the holes sizes specified below.
Capillary lengths may be in the range 0.25m to 4m.

Examples:

For a single pipe, 65m long with 9 capillaries, the first four capillaries (nearest the detector) should have
a 3mm hole drilled at the capillary end, the last capillary should be 4.5mm and the remaining 4 cap-
illaries (No’s 5-8) drilled 3.5mm. All capillaries should be the same length (within the range 0.25 to 4m
long).using tube with an internal diameter of 8mm.

For a system with two 50m long pipes (i.e. a single branch), each with 5 capillaries (10 in total) 8in total)
drill all holes 4mm. All capillaries should be the same length (within the range 0.25 to 4m long).using
tube with an internal diameter of 8mm.
