Lifting the vehicle
Lifting a vehicle with a jack can be dangerous. Follow all instructions and precautions below. Do not lift
a vehicle with the engine running nor start a vehicle supported by a jack or jack stands.
1.
With the jack arm fully lowered, roll the jack to the position below the jack rest.
2.
Turn the jack handle fully clockwise. Slowly inflate the handle until the jack head just begins to
contact the support surface on the underside of the vehicle.
3.
Check the position of the jack head under the support area and make sure that it is centred and
extends properly into the support area.
4.
Continue pumping the handle until the vehicle is raised to the desired height. Watch the position
of the jack head, as the vehicle is raised, to ensure that the support area does not slip or detach
from the jack head.
5.
Place jack stands under the additional support area.
6.
Turn the jack handle slowly counter-clockwise to place the vehicle on the jack stands.
Working on the vehicle

Any vehicle supported by a jack or jack stands is a potentially hazardous work environment.
•
Do not move or roll a jack when it is supporting a vehicle.
•
Never place any part of your body under a vehicle supported by a jack.
•
Be aware of forces acting on the vehicle, such as the torque of a nut or bolt. These forces can
cause the vehicle to become unstable on the jack or jack stands if they are not properly placed.
•
Do not operate the ignition of the vehicle or attempt to start a vehicle that is supported by a jack
or jack stands.
Lowering the vehicle
Make sure that there are no persons or objects under the vehicle before lowering it!
1.
Place the jack back under the same support surface that you used when lifting the vehicle.
2.
Turn the handle fully clockwise. Pump the handle until the jack head touches the support surface
under the vehicle.
3.
Make sure that the jack head is centred under the support surface. Slowly lift the vehicle off the
jack stands with the handle.
4.
Remove the jack stands, take them out of the vehicle area, and put them aside.
5.
Hold the jack handle and slowly turn it counter-clockwise until the jack begins to lower.
6.
Check the speed of the vehicle being lowered carefully. Lowering the vehicle too quickly can
cause property damage or injury.
Maintenance and storage
Lubricate
All moving parts of the jack should be lubricated every month with a general-purpose grease to ensure
efficient operation. Grease the joints on the lift arm hinges, the push rods, the base of the handle, the
rear, front rollers, etc. The pivot point of the lift arm must be well lubricated, otherwise the jack will make
a creaking noise under heavy load.
Maintaining the oil level
Important!
Always use SAE
10 hydraulic oil for jacks when refilling or replacing oil. Avoid mixing oil
types. Do not use brake fluid, alcohol, glycerine, detergent, engine oil, or contaminated oil. Unsuitable
oil can cause severe internal damage to the jack.
