 •  With the gimbal installed,

check to make sure that it

functions as expected.

•  Remove the Gimbal

Protector before powering

on the Xplorer.

•  Be aware that flying in wet

conditions (even a cloud)

can lead to a temporary

failure of the gimbal. After

drying it out it will again

function normally.

Removing the gimbal

Step 1:

If the battery has already been installed on the

Xplorer, it will be necessary to remove it from the drone prior

to removing the gimbal unit. Once this has been done, place

the Xplorer on its back (with the landing gear facing upwards)

and position the landing gear so that they are in the horizontal

position. That is, each of the legs should be positioned so that

they are closest to the LED lamps on the drone.

Step 2:

Pull the gimbal locking tab outwards.

Step 3:

Remove the gimbal by sliding it towards the gimbal

locking tab and gently pulling away from the Xplorer.

INSTALLING THE FLIGHT BATTERY

•  The battery is installed on the bottom of the Xplorer. It should

be firmly and securely installed prior to flying the drone to

prevent any difficulties that might arise.

Step 1:

  With the

Xplorer on its back

(top down), place

the battery in the

proper location. The

grooves and tabs on

the battery should be

correctly aligned with

the grooves and tabs

on the bottom of the

drone’s body.

Step 2:

 Once

everything has been

properly aligned, slide

the battery forward

into the male fittings

on the drone body. The battery should be positioned so that it

is flat against the body (no gaps or uneven alignment). Please

note the indication line and text on the drone’s body. The

battery should be installed so that the edge clearly meets this

alignment indicator.

Step 3:

With the battery

firmly in place, slide

the battery lock button

towards the battery

to further secure the

battery. There is an

indication line on the

battery. When the button

is in the correct location,

this will serve as an

indicator. Additionally,

when sliding the button,

there are two detents

that will be noted when

locking the battery. It is

important to note that

both detents are felt

to further indicate the lock has been properly affixed. This is

an added safety precaution and will prevent the battery from

inadvertently coming loose during flight.

**Note** If the battery lock button is not in the locked position

the Xplorer cannot take off and the power button located on

the top of the Xplorer will blink rapidly.

REMOVING THE FLIGHT BATTERY

Removing the battery is a very simple process. It is basically a

reversal of the steps noted previously.

Step 1:

Ensure that

the Xplorer’s power is

OFF by pressing and

holding the Xplorer’s

power button located

on the top of the

drone. Of course,

it is important to

make sure that the

motors have been

disabled/disarmed

prior to doing so.

This information is

explained elsewhere

in this manual.

Step 2:

 Push  the

battery lock button to

the unlocked position.

Assuming that the

Xplorer is resting on

the landing gear, this

will be in an upward

position.

Step 3:

 Pull the battery

straight back away

from the drone’s body.
