Spinning the Motor

This Main Panel view presents a simplified

interface for quick demonstrations.  An ‘expert mode’ can also

be selected to control and monitor the more detailed aspects of the design.  A few of those features will
be highlighted later in this document.

1.  Ensure that the

Mode

 radio button is set to

Torque

2.  Click the

Motor Run

toggle switch to enable the motor.

3.  Rotate the

TRQ

(torque) dial to select a current of

~0.8A.

There is a direct relationship between

torque and current, so requesting a current set point means we are setting a torque value as well.

4.

The  rotor  first  aligns  itself,  then  ramps  current  smoothly,  and  finally  engages  the  torque  control

loop. The motor should now be spinning!

5.

To  run  in  Speed  Mode,  toggle  the

Motor  Run

  switch  to

OFF

  and  select

Mode

  radio  button  for

Speed.

6.  Click the

Motor Run

toggle switch to enable the motor.
