User manual Thyone-I
The tool will create a logfile (log.txt) and append logs of the update process. The logfile can be
safely erased or renamed, but only when the tool is not running.
Perform the steps as advised by the tool. In case that the update package contains a new
bootloader package, please make sure to update the bootloader before updating the applica-
tion firmware.
The update package for the firmware version 1.4.0 and 1.5.0 contain a boot-
loader package v2. It is mandatory to update the bootloader before updating
the application firmware.
Patience required: The update will take some time. Make sure the command
window stays topmost and is in focus during the entire update procedure.
Watch carefully for any message displayed in the log window of the tool and
keep the log file in case of errors or if you require support.
The zip packages used for this update process needs to be signed by Würth
Elektronik eiSos.
Unsigned update packages, packages not suitable for
Thyone-I or packages signed by a third party will be discarded.
The secure UART bootloader will not allow downgrading to old firmware ver-
sions. It will also not allow installing a Bluetooth Low Energy (i.e. Proteus-III)
firmware on the Thyone-I.
A firmware update will revert to the default the factory settings of Thyone-I.
The process and tools described here were tested and verified on a 64 bit Windows 10 (build 1909)
machine using a Thyone-I evaluation board.
