- After each use, check all parts of the chain saw for wear, especially the chain, bar and sprocket drive.
- After use, check the saw, especially the motor cover and the power cord, for damage. If there is any sign of
damage, have the chain saw checked and repaired by an authorized service center.
- Check the lubrication function after each use of the chain saw. Failure of the lubrication will damage the
chain, bar and motor.
- In case of intensive use, it is recommended to have the saw checked every year by an authorized service
center. In case of normal use, then every 2 years.
Chain maintenance
-Make sure the chain is properly tensioned. A loose chain can jump out during operation and lead to injury.
- If damaged, the chain must be replaced immediately. The minimum length of the upper surface of the
cutting teeth must be at least 5 mm.
- Check the chain teeth after each use of the chain saw. A blunt chain leads to a higher load and engine
overheating
- Replace the blunt chain with a sharp one and have it sharpened.
- As some expertise is required to grind the saw chain, we recommend leaving the grinding to a specialist
workshop.
- When grinding the chain by hand, wear protective gloves and use a file. Grind the chain from the inside of
the blade outwards. Just 1 to 2 file strokes for each cutting tooth. Every 3 to 4 manual grinding must be
checked and, if necessary, the depth limiter feet must be ground using a flat file.
Guide bar maintenance
- Keep the bar groove and lubrication holes clean.
- Turn the guide bar every 8 operating hours to ensure even wear and thus prolong its service life.
TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
- Only transport the electric chain saw with the protective cover fitted.
- Make sure that the electric chain saw cannot be switched on during transport.
- Always clean the electric chain saw thoroughly before storing it.
- Store the electric chain saw in a dry place out of the reach of children.
- Store the electric chain saw in a horizontal position and secure it against tipping over.
- Empty the oil tank completely. Biological oils tend to gel and could damage the oil pump.
