SAFETY CHAIN BRAKE / FRONT HANDLE COVER
- The electric chain saw is equipped with a safety chain brake, which immediately stops the saw chain in the
event of a kickback.
- The safety chain brake reduces the risk of an accident, but only the user can fully avoid it.
- The safety chain brake is activated manually (with your left hand) or automatically by the inertia mechanism.
- Activate the safety chain brake by pushing it towards the saw chain.
- This movement triggers a spring mechanism which breakes the engine drive system.
- The safety chain brake also serves to protect the left hand from contact with the saw chain.
- Use the safety chain brake as a "parking brake" when transporting the saw from place to place. This will
prevent the started saw from coming into contact with your foot, another person or an object.
- The kickback of the saw can be very sudden and sharp, but most kickbacks are weak, and therefore the
safety chain brake will not be activated. It is important for the user to hold the saw firmly during the kickback.
- The way the safety chain brake is activated (automatically or manually) depends on the force of the kickback,
the position of the material to be cut and the guide bar.
- The safety chain brake is designed to engage automatically by the inertia mechanism in the event of a
severe impact when the kickback danger zone is too far from the user.
CHAIN SAW TRANSPORTATION
- Before transporting the electric chain saw, always switch off the appliance, remove the plug from the
electric socket and slide the protective cover onto the chain guide.
EXTENSION CABLES
- Only use the electric chain saw with manufacturer-approved extension cables with the prescribed
insulation and connections intended for outdoor use.
- The cross-
section of the extension cable must be at least 1.5 mm² and the maxi
mum length of the extension
cable must not exceed 10 m.
- To prevent the extension cable from bending, pass it through the corresponding holes in the saw body.
- The use of extension cords longer than 10 m reduces the performance of the electric chain saw.
GUIDE BAR
The guide bar is exposed to particularly strong wear (especially the tip of the guide rail and its underside).
To prevent one-sided wear, turn the guide bar each time you grind the saw chain.
SPROCKET WHEEL
- The sprocket wheel is exposed to particularly high wear.
- If the teeth of the saw chain show signs of wear, the sprocket wheel must be replaced.
- The use of an electric chain saw with a worn sprocket wheel significantly reduces the life of the saw chain.
- Have the sprocket wheel replaced by an authorized workshop.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- If the saw comes into contact with a foreign object, switch it off immediately, check it and have it repaired
if necessary.
- Protect the saw chain from dirt and sand. Even a small amount of dirt will quickly dull the saw chain and
increase the risk of kickback.
- Start by sawing a few small logs so that you are familiar with your equipment before solving more difficult
tasks.
- When you start sawing, push the chain saw cover against the log.
- Let the saw work. Apply only slight downward pressure.
- To avoid losing control of the appliance, you should lean towards the end of the cut so that no pressure is
applied to the saw.
