Prepare the logs for splitting. This splitter accommodates logs up to 52 cm in length and 30
cm in diameter.
Splitting wood
Start the appliance. Set a log firmly on the work table. Make sure it does not twist, rock or
slip while being split. Do not force the blade by splitting the log on the upper part only. This
can break the blade or damage the machine.
This log splitter is equipped with “ZHB” control system that requires to be operated by both
hands of the user. Left hand controls the hydraulic control lever while right hand controls the
other hydraulic lever. The log splitter will freeze upon absence of either hand. The cylinder
will move backwards when the levers are pulled back. The levers lock in backward position
and will be released back to the middle position after the cylinder has completely returned
to normal position. The cylinder stops when the levers are released or in the middle position.
Break log in the direction of its growing grain. Do not place log across the log splitter for
splitting. It could be dangerous and may damage the machine. Never try to split two logs
simultaneously. One of them may fly up and hit you.
NOTE! Never force the log splitter for more than 5 seconds by keeping pressure on it to
split excessively hard wood. After this time interval, the oil under pressure will be over-
heated and the machine could be damaged. For such extremely hard log, rotate it by 90
degrees to see whether it can be split in a different direction. In any case, if you are not
able to split the log, this means that its hardness exceeds the capacity of the machine and
thus that log should be discarded to protect the log splitter.
Setting the speed
This machine is equipped with a 2-speed control valve. When you press both handles
down a little, the machine operates in high speed. When you press the handles all the way
to the bottom, the machine operates in slow speed.
Freeing a jammed log
Depending on the wood type a log may not always split but is jammed to the wedge. If a
log is jammed, stop the machine by releasing both handles. When the log pusher has
moved back and completely stopped at its starting position, insert a wedge wood under
the jammed log. Start the log splitter to push the wedge wood to go completely under the
jammed one. Repeat above procedure with sharper slope wedge woods until the log is
completely freed.
Do not try to knock the jammed log off with a hammer. Knocking may damage the ma-
chine or launch the log and cause an accident.
Maximum pressure
The maximum air pressure has been properly set at the factory. The setting was done by a
qualified mechanic with professional instruments. Do not attempt to alter the maximum
pressure in any way. Unauthorized resetting will cause problems in the hydraulic system or
result damage to the machine.
