GET TICKING
Wind the string on the barrel,
keeping a constant tension on
the string. 3 or 4 loops should
be enough to prevent the loops
slipping when you pull on the
string. 20cm-8” short of the
floor tie a loop for the weight
hook. Hook the weight on and
wind up the clock.
Start the pendulum swinging, the ideal is when the anchor´s left
to right rocking is equal e.g. You get a tick....tock....tick and
not tick..tock......tick. If the left hand side travels further
push down the right hand side of the anchor, or if the right hand
travel is greater then push down on the left hand side.
If your clock runs too fast you have to move the pendulum bob
down, if the clock runs too slow then the pendulum bob has to go
up. After the adjustment let the clock run a few hours, continue
adjusting until your clock runs correctly this can take time, so
be patient.
Too fast too slow?
To fill the weight shell unscrew the hook and remove the top cap,
you will need shot with a small diameter as the bigger the diame-
ter of your shot the less you will be able to pack in. The whole
weight should weigh 1.4kg-3.11lbs.
If you make your own be careful that the diameter of your weight
is not larger than 50mm-2”, as it could interfere with the swing
of the pendulum.
