After aligning the blade on the wheels, always double-check
the blade guide spacing and location.
4.4 Sawblade
Blade Guide Vertical Tilt Alignment
The blade guides should be adjusted properly in the vertical plane. If the blade guides are
tilted vertically, the blade will try to travel in the tilted direction.
A Blade Guide Alignment Tool (BGAT) is provided to help you measure the vertical tilt of
the blade.
OUTER BLADE GUIDE
1.
Open the adjustable blade guide arm 1/2" (13 mm) from fully open.
2.
Clip the alignment tool on the blade.
3.
Position the tool close to the outer blade guide assembly.
NOTE:
Be sure the tool does not rest on a tooth or burr, and is lying flat
against the bottom of the blade.
See Figure 4-6.
4.
Move the carriage so that the
front
end of the tool is positioned above the bed rail.
5.
Measure the distance from the bed rail to the bottom edge of the tool.
6.
Move the carriage so that the
back
end of the tool is positioned above the bed rail.
