4.3 Functional check
A fixed Reed contact is located in the pump housing. The rotational movement of swash
plate

is detected by a Reed contact. A signal is emitted at each rotation. This signal can be
evaluated by an external controller.

dampens an integrated reed
contact when the reservoir is empty. The signal is emitted as long as the magnetic tape is
within the detection range of the reed contact. When the reservoir is refilled, the empty signal
disappears automatically.
The empty signal is given when the follower piston is about 14 ... 16 mm above the reser-
voir bottom. This corresponds to a remaining filling quantity of the reservoir of approx.
25 ... 40 cm³.
