Fog detection
You can correct the image by creating a fog detection event and executing defog in foggy conditions when it is
difficult to distinguish the image. When you complete the setting, click the [Apply] button at the bottom of the page.
The setting for fog detection events applies to [Fog detection] on [Event]>[Event setup] pages equally.
Fog detection
Note
In order to receive an alarm indicating fog detection after it has occurred previously, the
status must return to the stable status at least once. The improvement of image due to
defog operation is not recognized as a stable status. Instances of returning to the stable
status are as follows.
When [Enable fog detection] is deselected
When fog or smoke has disappeared to the extent that an image can be distinguishable
In any of the following cases, the fog detection performance may deteriorate or a
malfunction may occur.
Monitoring an environment with a monotonous background, at night time, and/or in a low
light environment
Sudden illumination change (e.g. an indoor light is turned off)
Blocked lens or appearance of a large object which covers the most of the screen
The object of focus is changed due a change of the camera position
Event action settings
Enable fog detection
To use fog detection, select [Enable fog detection].
Level of detection
The current fog level will appear in the level graph. An alarm occurs when the current
level is higher than the set level of detection. A smaller level of detection enables the
detection of an image even if it is blurred minutely by fog.
Sensitivity
The higher the sensitivity, the higher the level graph is for the same image.
Minimum duration (s)
This sets the minimum time between detecting fog and creating an event. An alarm
occurs when the level status over the level of detection persists for the set minimum
duration.
FTP
To save an image on an FTP server when a fog detection event is created, select
[Enable]. Detailed settings for FTP can be done from [Event]>[FTP/E-mail].
