Congratulations on your investment in a TURTLE Kiddy Bus from Winther, which sets

new standards for comfort and user-friendliness.

Read these instructions carefully before use. Your child’s safety may be affected,

if you do not follow these instructions.

IMPORTANT - Keep these instructions for future reference!

The Turtle bus is designed for the transportation of a maximum of 6 children of a

minimum age of 6 months and a maximum weight of 15 kg each. The maximum

weight load, including luggage, may not exceed 100 kg. The Turtle Bus is no ordinary

kiddy carriage, but has been developed specifically with a view to it being used in

daycare facilities and by crèches. It is suitable for use on asphalted or paved walk-

ways, footpaths and roads.

WARNING!

• Never leave your child unattended

• Always use the restraint system

• Do not let your child play with this product

• The seat unit is not suitable for children under 6 months

• Do not use the bus on inclines with a gradient of more than 12 degrees. Tilt angle

sideways: 12 degrees. If this instruction is not followed, the bus could overturn.

• Do not hang additional luggage on the push handlebar, along the side railings and

on the back rests as this could compromise the stability of the bus.

Usage and Operating Instructions

Do not use the Turtle bus for more than 6 children at a time or for transporting goods

and merchandise.

Brake Handle and Hand Strap

   • When the bus is in use, the brake handle must be pushed

  downwards towards the handlebar –

not forward

. The brakes

are activated as long as the brake handle is not pushed down-

  wards.

• The purpose of the strap on the handlebar is to hold down the brake handle against

the handlebar so that, during longer walks, your hands are not stressed.

 WARNING!

Always keep one hand through the loop so that the bus brakes are activated as soon

as your hand is removed from the handlebar. Failure to comply with this can jeo-

pardise your children’s safety.

so that the velcro strip is pointing upwards. Then pull the

hand strap upwards, so that the velcro strip is closed.

• You can verify that the hand strap is being used correctly by pulling it. If it does not

release the brake handle from the handlebar, then it is not sitting correctly.

• If the bus is to be manoeuvred over a pavement or a kerb-

stone then press the lower foot rail, so that the front of the

bus is raised and is no longer in contact with the ground. Be

careful that the front wheels do not bump against the pave-

ment edges or kerbstone or other elevated surface, since

this would damage the chassis.

How to Place Children in the Bus

•

Always keep the dead man’s brake activated when you place children into and take

them out of the bus.

• The rearmost two seats are designed for the smallest children. This provides more

stability to the bus and puts less strain on the adults.

• To lessen the strain on the adults’ arms, when manoeuvring the bus over the edge

of pavement or kerb, we recommend that the biggest children are placed in the centre

seats.

Strap System

•

The system consists of a restraint strap and an integrated hip/shoulder strap. The

length of the restraint strap can be adjusted using the H-clasp underneath the seat. The

hip and shoulder straps can be adjusted using the two clasps.

• When the children are placed into or taken out of the bus, the strap system at the

front can be opened using two fingers.

•

Users may never disassemble the strap system themselves.

• WARNING!

Always use the restraint system

Baggage

In the absence of a baggage tray, you can place up to 7 kg of baggage behind the back

seats without it affecting the stability of the bus.

The baggage tray for placing under the bus can be purchased as an accessory. The maxi-

mum load in the baggage tray may not exceed 10 kg. However, the total weight of the

baggage placed behind the seats and the baggage in the baggage tray may not exceed

10 kg.
