SAFETY FEATURE
•
Boil Dry Safety: This unit is equipped with an automatic boil dry switch
which guards against accidental or intentional boiling dry. If you have
accidentally caused a boil-dry, the surface of the heating element may
change colour, in this case it does not mean that it is damaged,
however, avoid boil dry.
•
Should boil-dry safety be activated any time, unplug and let the
appliance cool off for a few minutes before re-filling it.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Always pull the plug before cleaning, the electric water kettle is easy to
clean, the outside surface can be wiped off with a damp cloth.
Depending on local water conditions and its hardness it may be
necessary to remove the tiny residues of minerals and traces of earth
with brush and then rinse several times. Never immerse the kettle in
water nor hold the outside under running water.
•
Water with high calcium content usually cause more work. If there are
thick calcium deposits on heating element, it is time to decalify. Due to
such deposits, the boil-dry switch may be activated prematurely before
the water is boiling. Always decalcify the appliance on time.
•
For decalcifying, put a solution of 0.5L of water and 2 grams of clinic
acid into the kettle, let it briefly come to boil. (CAUTION! Might foam
over.) Subsequently rinse the kettle twice with clear water. Commercial
decalcifying materials may only be used according to instructions, do
not overdose. Always fill in water first then the additives.
