operated with approximately 15mm of wire
‘stick-out’ from the welding contact tip as

Duty Cycle
The term duty cycle indicates the percentage
welding time available at the rated output
current, for each 10 min period over 4 hours.
The Weldmatic 150 is rated 150 Amps, 20%
duty cycle. If the machine is operated at a
reduced welding current, a higher duty cycle
is available. The diagram below illustrates the
appropriate duty cycle rating for the range of
welding currents available from the 150, and
so allows the maximum welding time per 10
minute period to be determined.
The power source is protected by in built
over temperature protection devices. These
will operate if the machine is operated in
excess of its current and duty cycle rating. If
this occurs, the fan will continue to run, but
the machine will not deliver welding current
until the unit has cooled sufficiently.
