Checking evaporator fan motor

Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.

The evaporator fan motor is a 120 VAC 

shaded pole motor. To check, remove the 2 

wires from the motor. Connect an Ohmme-

ter across the motor leads. The resistance 

measured should be approximately 135 

Ohms plus or minus 10%. Note: the mo-

tor assembly does not have to be removed 

form the freezer to make this check
