U se the W ash C ycle knob to select available cycles on your 
w asher. Turn the knob to select a cycle for your laundry load. 
S ee “C ycle G uide” for detailed descriptions of cycles.

C Y C L E  O P T IO N S

W hen you select a cycle, its default settings w ill light up.  
N ot all cycles and options are available on all m odels.

T E M P  

Tem perature C ontrol senses and m aintains uniform  w ater 
tem peratures by regulating incom ing hot and cold w ater. 

S elect a w ash tem perature based on the type of fabric 
and soils being w ashed. For best results and follow ing 
the garm ent label instructions, use the w arm est w ash 
w ater safe for your fabric.

W arm  and hot w ater m ay be cooler than w hat your 
previous w asher provided.

Even in a C ool w ater w ash, som e w arm  w ater m ay 
be added to the w asher to m aintain a m inim um  
tem perature.   

S O IL  L E V E L

S oil level (w ash tim e) is preset for each w ash cycle. 
For m ost loads, use the soil level that is preset w ith the 
cycle you have chosen. For heavily soiled and sturdy 
fabrics, press S oil Level to select m ore w ash tim e,  
if needed. For lightly soiled and delicate fabrics, press 
S oil Level to select less w ash tim e, if needed. Lighter  
soil level setting w ill help reduce tangling and w rinkling.

S P IN  S P E E D

This w asher autom atically selects the spin speed 
based on the cycle selected. The preset speeds can be 
changed. N ot all spin speeds are available w ith all cycles.

This option m ust be selected if using fabric softener  
during a cycle. It ensures that fabric softener is added  
at the correct tim e in the rinse for even distribution.

The C ycle S tatus Lights show  the progress of a cycle. 
A t each stage of the process, you m ay notice sounds or 
pauses that are different from  traditional w ashers.

 

S E N S IN G

 

W hen the S TA R T/P ause/U nlock button is pressed,  
the w asher w ill first perform  a self-test on the lid lock  
m echanism . You w ill hear a click, the basket w ill m ake a 
slight turn, then lid w ill unlock briefly before locking again. 

 

O nce the lid has locked the second tim e, the w asher  
w ill slow ly spin the dry load to estim ate the load size and 
am ount of w ater needed, and begin adding w ater. The 
w asher w ill then m ove the load briefly, pause to allow  
w ater to soak into the load, and resum e adding w ater. This 
process m ay repeat until the correct am ount of w ater has 
been added for the load. You m ay also hear w ater flow ing 
through the dispenser, adding detergent to the load. 

 

N O T E : 

The sensing light m ay also com e on during the 

W ash portion of the cycle. This is norm al.

 

WAS H  

 

You w ill hear the w ashplate m oving the load. U nlike 
traditional w ashers, the load is not covered w ith w ater. 
Low -w ater cleaning m eans concentrated cleaning. R ather 
than diluting detergent as done in an agitator-style w asher, 
this w asher delivers the detergent directly to the soils. The 
m otor sounds m ay change at different stages in the cycle. 
The w ash tim e is determ ined by the selected soil level.

 

 
R IN S E  

 

You w ill hear sounds sim ilar to the w ash cycle as the 
w asher rinses and m oves the load. Fabric softener w ill  
be added if the Fabric S oftener option w as selected. 
S om e cycles use spray rinsing. 

 

S P IN

 

The w asher spins the load at increasing speeds for proper 
w ater rem oval, based on selected cycle and spin speed.  
  

 

D O N E

 

O nce the cycle is com plete, this light w ill com e on.  
R em ove the load prom ptly for best results.
