Connection
General Connection Hints
The battery pack is already charged by the factory and protected with a
shipping lock against early discharging. To activate the lamp after connecting,
turn the switch (B1) in the connecting case to the position
ON
.
Do not connect any other voltage supply sources, but only the included solar
module onto the terminals
S–
and
S+
.
Observe the polarity of the input lead of the solar module. Notice the colour
wires you use for plus and minus.
Only connect potential-free contacts on the terminals
M–
and
MSIG
. Voltage-
carrying wires may destroy the electronics of the lamp.
During all connecting work, completely cover both sides of the solar module to
avoid short-circuit and malfunctions.
Use suitable tools for all connecting work.
Make sure not to damage the leads or wires during removing or skinning each
lead.
If you use flexible leads, use core cable ends on the wire ends to ensure
permanent and steady contact.
Use the present feed through to pass the input lead of the solar module and fix
the lead with the built-in strain relief.
Before closing the connection case, make sure that the switch (B1) is in
position
ON
. Otherwise the battery pack does not have contact to the connec-
tion circuit.
After work, make sure the connection case is closed tight.
Before final mounting, it is reasonable to make a full function test. For this,
please read the chapter “Start-Up”.
Please note the following connection examples in order to get to know the
entire function range of the lamp.
