Operation
▪
always hold the chain saw firmly
with both hands. The thumb and
the finger should grip the han-
dles of the chain saw,
▪
always keep safe stand in order
to be able to withstand the back-
ward motion,
▪
never cut over shoulder height,
▪
do not start cutting with the tip of
the guide bar or inserting the tip
of the guide bar into the wood
first.
2. Pushback
While cutting with the top of the
guide bar the saw chain may touch a
hard object in the wood. This will
pinch the saw chain and pushback
the machine in direction to the
operator.
3. Pull-in
While cutting with the bottom part of
the guide bar, the saw chain may
touch a hard object in the wood. This
will rapidly pull the machine into the
log.
Reduce the risk of sudden strikes by
inserting the claw stops (14) into the
wood first and then start cutting.
