MAINTENANCE
5. Replace the cutting edge when it is worn to
the bottom of the blade (PRODIGY™ and
straight blades) or within 1" (2.5 cm) of the
carriage bolts (MVP PLUS™ and MVP 3™
blades).
6.
Straight Blade, PRODIGY, WIDE‑OUT™,
and WIDE‑OUT™ XL Trip Spring
Adjustment:
To adjust trip spring tension,
adjust the eyebolts located at the top of the
blade. Loosen the locknut (nut closest to the
spring), and tighten the adjusting nut (nut
farthest from the spring) until the coils begin to
separate. When tension is properly adjusted,
a sheet of paper should pass between the
second and third coils. When the proper
tension is reached, tighten the locknut.
7.
Blade Finish:
If the powder-coat finish is
nicked or scratched, repair the surface and
paint with WESTERN
®
red or black paint
(available in aerosol or quart can).
GREASING MVP 3 PIVOT PIN HINGE
Using a rubber-tipped seal-off coupler, apply a
good quality multipurpose grease at the five
grease points along the center pivot pin hinge.
Grease the hinge at the beginning of the
snowplow season. Reapply as needed during
the season and before putting the snowplow in
storage.
