Route this GRN/YEL wire through the square hole in the back
panel at the rear of the top, horizontal slot provided for this
plug-in module, then connect it to the chassis ground screw on
the back panel.
3.5.4
Local DC Powering Ground Connections
When local DC is used with an external power source and the
Telco Termination Module, the circuit, chassis and shield
ground connections are made to TB1 on the
Telco Termination
Module
. Figure 7 shows the TB1 ground connection locations.
Return ground connections can be made with stripped wire or
by spade lug connectors. TB1 screw poPWR" is the
battery return. TB1 screw position CKT GND" provides cir-
cuit ground as described in Paragraph 3.5.2. TB1 screw position
CHASSIS GND" termination should be made via a separate
conductor to the multi-ground neutral of the building ground.
TB1 screw position SHIELD GND" provides for a shield
ground as stated in Paragraph 3.5.5.
Under normal conditions, each terminal will draw less than 1-¾
A steady state current. CKT GND should be run to a ground
buss over a separate wire.
- CAUTION -
Power applied to TB1 must be wired through conduit. A hole
knock-out is provided on the left side of the enclosure
adjacent to the Telco Termination Module which accepts a
½-inch conduit connector.
3.5.5
Drain Wire Connections/Shield Ground
If the end user requires a shield ground for inside wiring, a
separate connection to the multi-ground neutral of the build-
ing ground is needed to ensure proper noise suppression on the
data lines. The SHIELD GND screw position on TB1 provides
an earth ground connection point to ground all cable pair
shields connected to the
Telco Termination Module
.

Static Wrist Strap Jack
The static wrist strap jack, located at the top front of the enclo-
sure, is also grounded to the enclosure chassis/frame. Always
