VENTILATION THE RIGHT WAY
V E N T I L AT I O N & H E AT R E C O V E R Y
supply and extract air openings are roughly 30 cm (top edge of the unit) below the ceiling
(exception: extract air opening in the ceiling if the 2-room solution is used).
► Maintain the following minimum distances:
— For this installation kit, the distance between the top edge of the wall box and the
ceiling must be at least 30 cm, otherwise there will not be enough space for the flat
ductwork.
— The distance between the side edge of the ventilation unit and adjacent surfaces
should be at least 5 cm. The ventilation unit will be easier to operate if this mini-
mum distance is maintained. It also allows the filter to be replaced without obstruc
-
tion.
►
In taller rooms, position the ventilation unit so that an operator can still reach the control
panel unaided (without steps, ladders, etc.). Alternatively order a type of ventilation unit
that is not controlled from the unit itself.
3.3
Unrestricted access to the ventilation unit
The ventilation unit must always be freely accessible for operation and maintenance.
►
Make sure that the ventilation unit is not blocked, obstructed or covered when the room is
subsequently decorated and furnished, otherwise it cannot be used and it will not be possible
to replace the filter. You should therefore maintain a clearance of at least 150 mm in front of
the ventilation unit cover.
►
Make sure that the supply and extract air openings are not blocked, obstructed or covered
when the room is subsequently decorated and furnished.

Additional planning notes for this installation kit
WARNING
Observe the relevant fire safety and soundproofing regulations
►
Observe the regulations concerning the fire behaviour of building materials and components
as defined in DIN 4102.
►
Observe the regulations concerning soundproofing in buildings as defined in DIN 4109, par
-
ticularly the requirements for insulation against airborne and impact sound.
►
Observe the building regulations applicable in your country.
NOTE
►
Observe the following recommendations when using flat ductwork. This will avoid uninten
-
tional pressure losses in the flat ductwork.
—
The total length of a flat duct should not exceed 6 m.
—
Minimise the number of bends in the flat ductwork.
