1. Description

The DSV 80 and DSXV 80 desoldering tool can be connected to all desoldering units for 80W
tools. The powerful 80W heater element is operated at a protective low voltage. An integrated
circuit board sensor ensures optimal regulation behaviour. The handle, vacuum hose and
power cable are manufactured from anti-static material in order to prevent static charging.
The suction process is initiated by finger operated button. There is a tin collection container
in the handle for collecting the solder removed. The tin collection container has a bayonet
faster for easy emptying.

2. Commissioning

Place the desoldering tool in the safety holder (AK V). Insert the 7 pole plug into the socket on
the control unit and lock. Connect the vacuum hose to the connection nipple on the vacuum
filter. Switch on the control unit and set to the desired working temperature. When the visual
check on regulation flashes, the temperature set has been reached.

The suction process is triggered by operating the finger switch.

3. Potential Equalisation

The desoldering tool is connected directly to the control unit via a potential equalisation wire.
Details on the wiring of the potential equalisation can be found in the operating instructions
for the control unit.

4. Notes on Use

The inner diameter of the suction nozzle should be approximately the same as the diameter
of the holes in the circuit board. Position the suction nozzle vertically on the circuit board and
only activate the vacuum when the solder is completely melted. During the suction process
move the suction nozzle in a circular motion around the component connection. If all the
solder is not removed, tin the joint again and repeat the desoldering process. By using addi-
tional solder, the excellent wetting characteristics of the suction nozzle are maintained and a
good coefficient of thermal conduction ensured.

5. Cleaning

To clean the tool the bayonet fastener on the hose connection must be undone and the
solder collecting container removed to the rear.

To obtain good desoldering results, it is important to regularly clean the desoldering head.
This includes emptying the solder collecting container, changing the glass tube and the
impact plate, as well as replacing the glass tube filter.

Glass tube and also the vacuum tube through the heater element are cleaned using the
appropriate cylindrical brush.

Correct sealing of the front faces of the glass tube ensures full suction performance; these
should therefore be checked for damage and replaced if necessary.

Cleaning and replacing of the suction nozzle only when hot!

To clean the suction nozzle bore in the cleaning tool use the appropriate cleaning needle.

DSV 80

Only change suction nozzles when hot.

The suction nozzles can be replaced easily. A suitable tool is integrated into the cleaning
tool (5 13 500 99). The thread on new suction nozzles should be smeared with antilocking
paste. To avoid the thread seizing solid with the heat, the suction nozzle should be
unscrewed and smeared again with antilocking paste.
