eighth cycle.

2 - The MODE switch is used for automatic shut off of the system
at dawn or dusk by the photocell. DAY mode will turn the system
on at dawn and off at dusk. NIGHT mode reverses this for night
operation only. 24 HRS mode bypasses the photocell so that the
unit will operate 24 hours a day continuously. The photocell is
the white bulb in the center of the rear panel.

3 - The PHOTOCELL ADJUSTMENT is used to set sensitivity of the
light level entering the photocell under the white bulb. Normal
use is set at the factory; if an adjustment is necessary, use a
small screwdriver to twist the knob in the photocell adjustment
hole to the desired light level. If night operation is desired,
set mode to NIGHT and twist the knob until unit barely turns on
as more of the white bulb is covered. These adjustments can also
be made in the field with the setting made to actual light
conditions.

4 - The TIME OFF circuit is set to alternate between eight
seconds on, eight seconds off, eight seconds on, after which the
TIME OFF setting takes effect. The SHORT time off is eight
seconds, the MEDIUM time off is 40 seconds (this is the normal
setting), and the LONG time off is 104 seconds. The chirp and
warble sounds alternate every 128 seconds regardless of the
setting.

NOTE: The normal time off setting is MEDIUM for a 40-second
interval. As control becomes evident, the time off can be
switched to LONG. If initial installation takes place when birds
are already causing damage, start the system on the SHORT time
off setting, switching to first MEDIUM, then LONG as more control
is gained.

5 - The VOLUME switch should be set at one of the four settings,
based upon the area to be protected. The higher the setting
number, the louder the noises made by the unit and, therefore,
the larger the area that can be protected.
