5 ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION
The expansion boards are incorporated to the RUW100 in a simple and fast way, using the "Plug and Play" concept
by the user. When the RUW100 is powered up, the electronic circuit identifies the number of connected expansions,
the model and the firmware version of each one. They also receive an address according to the position of each
one, so that it is possible to access them through the communication bus.
ATTENTION!
Accessories must be installed or removed with the RUW100 de-energized to avoid burning
components and also to allow them to be identified.
5.1 GROUNDING
Use the screws indicated in
to ground the product. The screws are connected internally;
however, the connection of both ensures better grounding.
5.2 EXPANSION LIMITS
The WEG remote unit (RUW100) allows coupling up to 8 of the expansions described in this manual. However,
due to some characteristics of the modules, some limits have been defined for coupling some specific modules.
5.2.1 MOD3.00
The coupling of MOD3.00 expansions to the RUW100 is limited to two; however, other digital input/output, analog
input, thermocouple and load cell expansions can be coupled up to the limit of eight modules.
If there are two MOD3.00 expansions coupled, it is not possible to couple MOD7.00 expansions.
If there is only one MOD3.00 expansion coupled, it is possible to couple up to three MOD7.00 expansions, and it
is also possible to couple other expansion models up to the limit of the RUW100.
5.2.2 MOD7.00
The coupling of MOD7.00 expansions to the RUW100 is limited to five; however, other digital input/output, analog
input, thermocouple and load cell expansions can be coupled up to the limit of eight modules.
If there are five MOD7.00 expansions coupled, it is not possible to couple MOD3.00 expansions.
If there are three (or less) MOD7.00 expansions coupled, it is possible to couple a MOD3.00 expansion, and it is
also possible to couple other expansion models up to the limit of the RUW100.
