If line breakage occurs during edging, it may be best to fi rst edge area with
a standard manual or powered edger to form an edge and groove. The line
trimmer/edger may then be used to maintain the edge.
Problem: Cutting or run-time performance is diminished.
Solution(s):

Please follow the trimming and edging techniques described in this manual for
best performance.
•
The line trimmer should operate for approximately 30 minutes under a full
charge. This should provide enough cutting time to effectively trim and edge
up to ¾ an acre lot (home and driveway included in lot size).
•
Inspect line head to make sure it is clean and free of obstruction(s).
•
Make sure the unit is fully charged – see the Operations section of this manual
for charging details.
Problem: Thumb safety switch is diffi cult to hold on during use.
Solution: The thumb safety switch need only be engaged when starting the unit.
There is no need to keep this switch engaged while using the product.
Problem: Accessory handle does not “lock” into place.
Solution: The accessory handle is designed with a slight mechanical “detent” to
pause while the accessory handle is in line with the primary handle and control
switches in the edging and trimming mode. You may use the accessory handle in
other degrees to meet your specifi c comfort level.
Problem: String does not cut easily when advanced.
Solution: Turn unit upright to inspect the line cutting-blade on the string trimmer
guard. Inspect the blade for sharpness or damage. You may sharpen this blade
with a standard fi le. Replacement guards with new blades are available by calling
(800) 540-5688.
Problem: Unit will not operate .
Solution: Remove the battery door and make sure battery connections are properly
connected.
