RECHARGING YOUR BATTERY

PACK

S

Recharge the battery as soon as the cutting

power of your cordless hedge trimmer is no

longer effective.

S

Avoid running the battery into full dis-

charge, i.e. avoid draining the battery com-

pletely.

S

Follow the procedure outlined in the

CHARGING BATTERY PACK section.

S

Recharging the battery pack according to

these instructions should ensure maximum

battery life.

S

Do not recharge the battery pack in an area of

extreme heat or cold. The charger will work

best at normal room temperature.

TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK

S

Place the battery pack in your hedge trim-

mer (see illustration). Ensure the latches on

each side of the battery pack snap in place

and battery pack is securely connected to

hedge trimmer.

TO REMOVE BATTERY PACK

S

Press both latches on side of battery pack

to release battery pack from hedge trimmer

(see illustration).

CORRECT OPERATING POSITION

When operating unit, stand as shown and

check for the following:

S

Wear eye protection and heavy clothing.

S

Grip rear handle with right hand and front

handle with left hand.

S

Keep unit below waist level.

STOPPING YOUR UNIT

To stop the unit, release one of the switch lev-

ers, allow blades to stop, then move the

hedge trimmer away from the cutting area.

STARTING YOUR UNIT

Press both switch levers by gripping front and

rear handles firmly. Both switch levers must

be pressed for the unit to start.

OPERATING THE UNIT

S

Read important safety instructions before

operating.

S

Do not cut stems greater than 3/8 inch (1

cm) thick.

Top Cutting

Use a wide sweeping motion for top cutting. A

slight downward tilt of the cutting blades in the

direction of motion gives the best cutting re-

sults.

Side Cutting

When trimming the sides of a hedge, begin at

the bottom and cut upwards.
