Installation guidance
FlowHUB has built-in flow conditioners so the normal recommended length of 10 Ø of straight tube can be eliminated.
Inlet and outlet connections should always have a similar bore size to that of the flow meter to prevent venturi or
constriction effects.
All hydraulic connections should be made by a suitable qualified personnel only. If flow meter is connected by flexible
hose, the weight of the product should not be taken by the hydraulic connections.
Filtration - it is recommended that a 25 micron filter is installed in the hydraulic circuit prior to the flow meter.
The FlowHUB can be installed in any orientation.
The unit contains a sensitive magnetic device it is therefore recommend to mount away from strong magnetic fields and
large ferrous objects, a distance of 80mm (3.25”) is recommend. For this reason it is also recommend to use only the
adaptors supplied as different shaped adaptors can effect the readings.
Care should be taken to ensure that the FlowHUB is installed in a position which is not subjected to excessive pulsation
as this can cause incorrect readings. For heavy-duty applications, for example installation close to a piston pump, consult
the Webtec Products sales office.
This FlowHUB is for indoor use only - do not install in wet areas or outside without the appropriate additional protection.
The FlowHUB will allow reverse flow but it will not measure the flow rate. The pressure drop in reverse flow is considerably
higher then that in forward flow. - see technical information
The performance of the FlowHUB can be affected by the viscosity of the fluid measured. All units are designed to meet
the specification at a viscosity of 21cSt, which is a typical kinematic viscosity for a hydraulic fluid operating at 50°C.
N.B.
The electronics enclosure must be protected from the ingress of water or other fluids - serious malfunction may occur is water enters.
Power connection (pin 1) to include in line fuse for cable protection (1A)
