Connecting the External Audio System to the HPSA-7100-R
5.2.1.1 Audio and NAC Cables and Connections
1. Run the required two pairs of cable from the External Source through the HPSA-
7100-R cabinet to the Audio and Monitoring Bridge (refer to Figure 5.4 and
Section 4.5, Cabinet Penetrations).
2. Run twisted pair cables from the External Source to the HPSA for monitoring the
HPSAs trouble state; refer to the External Source’s Instruction manual to identify
the appropriate troubles to monitor.
3. Connect the two pair of cables to the AMB’s Audio IN and either the NAC IN or
Dry Contact Closure connections as described in the following sections.
4. Connect the Trouble monitoring cable to the appropriate trouble connections on
the AMB as described in Section 5.2.1.1.4.

To minimize interference such as Modulation Distortion and
interference of Audio Amps, it is recommended that shielded twisted
pair cable be used for the 25/70.7 and 100 V
RMS
Audio Input
connections to the AMB, however the 1 V
RMS
Audio Input cable MUST
be shielded twisted pair.
Take care to ground one end of the shielded cable.
When using the optional HPSA-7100-V-KIT, the 70.7 V
RMS
and 100 V
RMS
Audio Inputs will be connected thru the AMB Plate Assembly’s Interface
Module J3 connector. Refer to Appendix D and the HPSA-7100-V-KIT
Installation Instructions , P10-00096 for detailed instructions.
All wiring to and from the HPSA must be Class 2/Power Limited.
