Troubleshooting the HPSA-7100-R
This Chapter provides guidelines for a qualified technician to recognize HPSA trouble
symptoms along with the actions and next steps necessary to identify potential causes and
resolutions.

9.1 TROUBLESHOOTING
It is important to know how to troubleshoot the system properly to determine if the HPSA-
7100-R and all of its components are working successfully.
The most common cause of trouble symptoms in the HPSA electronics is due to loss of
AC Power and a resulting low (or no) Battery Backup Power.
Initial troubleshooting should always begin with verifying the HPSA’s AC and Battery
Backup Power status.
The information provided in this Chapter works in conjunction with the
manuals listed in Table 1.1, “Installation Instructions and Manuals” .
Only factory trained personnel should troubleshoot the HPSA-7100-R
TO AVOID PHYSICAL INJURY, DO NOT WEAR JEWELRY WHILE
TROUBLESHOOTING, INSTALLING OR UNINSTALLING EQUIPMENT.
TO AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE, ENSURE THE
HPSA IS POWERED DOWN BEFORE REMOVING CABLES OR
ELECTONIC COMPONENTS.
