FOR YOUR SAFETY READ BEFORE OPERATING
WARNING:
If you do not follow these instructions, a fire or explosion may result
causing property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.
A. This appliance does not have a pilot light. It is equipped with an ignition device, which
automatically lights the burner. Do NOT try to light the burner by hand.
B. BEFORE OPERATING smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell next
to the floor, as some gas is heavier than air and will settle on the floor.
C. Use only your hand to turn the gas ball-valve knob. Never use tools. If the knob will not
turn by hand, do NOT try to repair it, but rather call a qualified service technician. Force
or attempted repair may result in a fire or explosion.
D. Do not use this appliance if any part has been submerged under water. Immediately call
a qualified service technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the
control system and any gas control device that has been submerged under water.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
•
Do not try to light any appliance
•
Do not touch or operate any electric switch
•
Do not use any phone in the building
•
Immediately call your gas supplier from a
neighbor’s phone or from outside with
your cell phone and follow the gas supplier’s instructions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.
STOP! Read the safety information above on this warning.
2. Turn off all electric power to the appliance.
3. Open the gas valve.
4. Check gas and water pressure.
5. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas, then smell for gas, including near the floor.
6. If you smell
gas, STOP! Follow the instructions “WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS” that are
printed above in these warnings. If you do not smell gas, go to the next step.
7. Turn on all electric power to the appliance.
8. Turn the start-up switch (next to the Ufly controller) to the ON position. Replace the control
access panel.
9. Set Thermostat to the desired temperature.
10. If the appliance will not operate, follow instructions to turn off the gas (see below), and then call
your service technician or gas supplier.
TO TURN OFF GAS TO APPLIANCE
1. Set the thermostat to its lowest setting.
2. Turn off all electric power to the appliance if service is to be performed.
3. Close the gas valve.
