Step 3 (alternate) –

Remote Control Cable Installation

The stereo control cable connects the Boost Box to the 5-pin

wired  remote  control  port  on  the  rear  of  the  stereo.    The

smaller,  3.5mm  plug  connects  to  the  Boost  Box  and  the

larger 5-pin plug connects to the stereo.

If  there  is  a  Clarion  wired  remote  already  installed  in  the

cockpit of the boat, the Boost Box can be connected directly

to this remote.  The factory installed Clarion wired remotes

will  always  have  a  very  short  cable  that  connects  to  an

extension cord directly behind the remotes.  The Boost Box

can  be  connected  to  both  the  factory  remote  and  the

extension  cord  so  that  the  both  the  Boost  Box  and  the

Clarion remote can control the stereo.

Note:  Some newer Clarion stereos use an 8-pin wired

remote  control  connection.    If  these  stereos  are  not

compatible  with  the  IR  remote  transmitter,  a  5-to-8  pin

adapter  cable  is  available  (sold  separately)  from

Watersport Innovations, or directly from Clarion.
