ADJUSTMENTS
Neutral Position Adjustment - Step 3
1.
With the Forward Speed Control (FSC) in neu-
tral, the lever should be straight up. Adjust by
loosening the jam nuts on the FSC Rod and turn
the rod to attain the straight up position. Tighten
the jam nuts.

2.
The initial adjustment for neutral is to loosen the
jam nuts on each end of the Hydro-Gear Control
Rods and turn the rods to achieve a measure-
ment of 4-7/8" between the jam nuts. Be sure to
tighten jam nuts before making the measure-
ment.
Actuator Rod Length Adjustment
3.
Block the tractor up so the drive tires are off the
ground.
4.
With the FSC in neutral, start the engine. (Op-
erate first at idle and then normal operating
speed) and check for movement of drive
wheels.
NOTE: If the engine will not start, check and ad-
just the neutral safety switch (see adjustment
below).
5.
With the FSC in the neutral position and the en-
gine running, the wheels should not move. If a
drive tire is moving, the Control Rod on that side
is out of adjustment. Adjust that side to achieve
neutral. Now both transaxles are in the neutral
window.
