Basic facts about UV-C
ENG
Impairment of the effective power
Manipulation of the fan can impair the effec-
tive power and lead to material damage.
X
Do not
cover the fan.
X
Do not
insert any parts into the fan.
The irradiance of the UV-C lamp decreases
over time. After approx. 8,000 operating
hours, the irradiance has dropped to approx.
70 % of the original value. After that, effec-
tive disinfection of the air is no longer guar-
anteed.
X
Replace the UV-C lamp after 8,000 oper-
ating hours.
1.3 Alarm levels

disregarded, can lead
to injuries.

2. Basic facts about UV-C
UV-C rays are short-wave rays in the range
of 100–280 nm, which are not visible to the
human eye. In the range of 254 nm, UV-C
rays have a very strong germicidal effect,
so that even dangerous germs, bacteria,
viruses, mould etc. are inactivated within
a very short time. And all this without the
use of chemicals. DNA or RNA of the micro-
organisms are damaged in such a way that
reproduction is no longer possible. This
results in the death of the microorganisms.
Ultraviolet radiation is therefore an econom-
ical and environmentally friendly alternative
to chemical disinfection.
