Starting
Before starting, be sure you read and understand all the safety and
operating instructions in this manual.
4.16.1 Ensure that the generator is properly installed in an outdoor location.
See Sections
Installation
and
Operator Safety while using Internal

for installation warnings and safety guidelines.
4.16.2 Disconnect all loads from the generator and place the main breaker in
the "OFF" position

4.16.3 Set the Auto Idle Switch

to "OFF".
4.16.4 Open the fuel valve

Note:
If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the closed position
(e2)
.
If the engine is hot, set the choke to the open position
(e1)
.
4.16.5 Turn the engine switch to "ON"

4.16.6 Pull the starter rope

Note:
If the oil level in the engine is low, the engine will not start. If this
happens, check the oil level and add oil as needed.
4.16.7 As the engine warms up, move the choke lever to the OPEN position
(e1)

4.16.8 Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before placing the main
breaker in the "ON" position

and attaching loads.
