The purpose of the VTEXScanner driver is to make it easy to control any VTI instrument where
taking measurements on multiple modules is the primary purpose of the device. While controlling
the instrument in the same way is possible by using a combination of other VTI drivers, this is
often cumbersome due to the need to instantiate and initialize multiple drivers, and arrange
scanlists and triggers exactly.
The VTEXScanner driver abstracts many of these details and allows application programmers the
flexibility to program at a high level and rely on the details being correct.
In addition, the VTEXScanner driver incorporates an IVILxiSync-compatible interface to make
programming triggering and arming familiar. This model is interchangeable with IVILxiSync
unless otherwise noted, but does not present an IVILxiSync Interface in COM.
The VTEXScanner driver must expose certain segments of other drivers to allow the user to
configure them. These sections are only documented here if they are changed from the drivers they
were taken from.
