• Do not use this appliance for functions other than
those described in this booklet.
• After removing the appliance from its packaging,
ensure that it is complete and undamaged. If in
doubt contact a professionally qualified electrician or
Vortice*. Do not leave packaging within the reach of
children or infirm persons.
• If you decide to stop using the appliance, switch it
off and disconnect it from the power supply.
• Store the appliance out of reach of children and
infirm persons if you decide to disconnect it from the
power supply and no longer use it.
• Do not use this appliance in potentially explosive or
flammable atmospheres or to extract acid or
corrosive fumes (fig. 1).
• The interior of the appliance must only be cleaned
by professionally qualified personnel.
• If the appliance is installed at a height of less than
2.5 metres from the floor, it is obligatory to install
protections for moving parts, in the form of safety
grilles on the suction and delivery sides (figs. 7-8).
• If the selected product exceeds 70 dB(A), adequate
noise damping must be fitted when it is installed, or
suitable personal protective equipment used.

• Do not make modifications of any kind to this
appliance.
• Regularly inspect the appliance for visible defects. If
any faults are found, do not operate the appliance;
contact Vortice* immediately.
• If the appliance does not function correctly or
develops a fault, contact Vortice* immediately.
Ensure that only genuine original Vortice spares are
used for any repairs.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy
blow, have it checked immediately by Vortice*.
• This appliance must only be installed
and serviced, externally or internally,
by professionally qualified personnel.
• Switch off the appliance at the installation's main
switch: a) if the appliance does not function
correctly; b) before cleaning the inside or outside of
the appliance, c) if the appliance is not to be used
for any length of time.
• Ensure that the electrical system to which the
appliance is connected complies with applicable
standards.
• Specifications for the power supply must correspond
to those on the appliance's data plate.

The circuit in which the appliance is installed
must have an overload protection device
calibrated to suit the nominal current shown on
the appliance's data plate.
• This appliance must be connected to an efficient
earthing system in complaince with applicable safety
standards. If in doubt, ask a qualified electrician to
check your system.
• The electrical power supply/socket to which the
appliance is to be connected must be able to
provide the maximum electrical power required by
the appliance. If it cannot do so, arrange for a
qualified electrician to make the necessary
modifications.
• When installing the appliance, fit a multi-pole
thermomagnetic cutout, with a contact gap of at
least 3 mm.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The product you have purchased is an industrial cen-
trifugal fan for extraction into a ventilation duct (fig. 2)
with high load losses. The air extracted by this
appliance must not be dusty, acid or corrosive (fig. 1).
The appliance may be installed on a wall or ceiling, at
the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of a venti-
lation duct, either in suction or delivery mode (fig. 3).
• The products have automatic reset thermal cutouts
incorporated in the electric motor.
They do not therefore require an external
thermomagnetic cutout. They still require a
multipolar switch with a contact gap of at least
3 mm, however.
• Fit a spring washer or other such material between
the wall and the appliance's flange if the wall
surface is uneven.
• If the appliance is installed outdoors, ensure that
adequate weather protection is provided.
• Operating temperature from -25°C a +40°C.
• The appliance cannot be used to control water
heaters, room heaters, etc.; neither must it exhaust
