Troubleshooting
Emergency shifting
If it is not possible to shift with the control, the reverse
gear can be engaged manually for forward movement
as described below.
WARNING! If the reverse gear is engaged man-
ually, forward motion can only be interrupted by
stopping the engine via the ignition switch or
with the stop button (if applicable). Note that the
reverse gear cannot be disengaged with the
control.
Twin Disc MG5075
1. Stop engine and remove the key from the key
switch.
2. Note to which solenoid (P or S) the cable marked
“Primary” is connected to. Detach the connectors
(1 and 2) from both solenoids.
3. Remove the cover from the button (A) on top of
the “Primary” solenoid valve.
4. Push the button (A) on the solenoid valve and turn
the button clockwise until the catch point.
5. The reverse gear is now locked for forward move-
ment and cannot be disengaged with the control.
Twin Disc MG5085
1. Stop engine and remove the key from the key
switch.
2. Note to which solenoid (P or S) the cable marked
“Primary” is connected to. Detach the connectors
from both solenoids.
3. Remove the solenoid and valve body (V) from the
valve where the “Primary” cable is installed.
4. Loosen the plug (A) and install it in the hole for the
valve body as shown in the illustration.
Tightening torque:
Max. 27 Nm (2.7 kpm = 19.9 lbf.ft).
5. The reverse gear is now locked for forward move-
ment and cannot be disengaged with the control.
