What Is Warranted
Volvo warrants to the retail purchaser of each
new genuine Volvo replacement part and ac-
cessory, that such part or accessory will be
free from defects in material or workmanship.
During the warranty period, any such defec-
tive part or accessory will be exchanged or re-
paired at Volvo's discretion without charge,
but only by an authorized Volvo retailer.
If, and only if, such part or accessory was
originally installed by an authorized Volvo re-
tailer, the labor for removal and replacement
will also be covered by this warranty.
Limitations
No implied warranty of merchantability or
fitness for a particular purpose shall apply
except during the applicable periods of
this warranty.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights,
and you may also have other rights which
vary from state to state, province to province.
Some states/provinces do not allow limita-
tions on how long an implied warranty
lasts, so the above limitations may not ap-
ply to you.

tions and Disclaimers,” refer to page 41.
Warranty Period
Spare Parts Replacement
The warranty period for parts is one (1) year,
beginning with the date the part was pur-
chased.
Some parts are covered by a specific limited
warranty, for a different period. For those
parts, the applicable warranty is supplied at
the time of purchase including a listing of con-
ditions and limitations.
Genuine Volvo Accessories
If a Volvo-approved accessory is purchased
and installed by a Volvo retailer as part of
your new vehicle purchase, the warranty peri-
od is four (4) years or 50,000 miles/80,000 ki-
lometers, whichever occurs first. The warran-
ty period will start and run concurrently with
the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. If a Volvo-
approved accessory is installed by a Volvo re-
tailer after your new vehicle purchase, it will
be warranted for the balance of your New Ve-
hicle Limited Warranty period, or for a period
of one year from the date of installation,
whichever is longer. Some genuine Volvo
parts/ accessories are covered by their own
specific limited warranty for a different period.
For those parts/ accessories, the applicable
warranty is supplied at the time of purchase,
including a list of conditions and limitations.
What Is Not Warranted
• Labor for removal and replacement of a
defective part or accessory sold, BUT NOT
INSTALLED, by an authorized Volvo retail-
er. In such cases, the defective part/com-
ponent or accessory will be exchanged,
repaired, or replaced at the discretion of
Volvo.
• Parts or accessories not sold, supplied, or
approved by Volvo.
• Failures resulting from improper installa-
tion of parts or accessories, a lack of
maintenance or improper maintenance.
NOTE
Parts replaced free of charge under the
terms of another Volvo warranty are not sub-
ject to the warranty coverage of the Genuine
Volvo Replacement Parts and Accessories
Limited Warranty (U.S.), Genuine Volvo Re-
placement Parts and Accessories Warranty
(Canada). Those parts will be warranted for
90 days or the remainder of the original war-
ranty, whichever is greater.
